HAND HOLDING MENTORING SESSIONS

What the heck is it?

Private mentoring for 4 weeks in a row. Accountability buddy meets education meets peer review. We’ll meet online and dive deeper into something that is holding you back, or that you need an extra set of eyes on and work through it together.

When the heck is it?

One hour once a week for 4 weeks. You pick a time that works with your schedule. Heads-up! Spaces are limited and this isn’t offered every month.

How the heck much?

$150/week for 4 weeks. $600+hst in total.

Why the heck should I do this?

There are tons of education options online for photography. So why me? Often when people buy an online course they don’t finish it. They don’t do the homework because no one is checking in on them and they’ve got more important things to do. Having someone check in on you regularly encourages you do the work and implement the changes to grow your business fast. On top of that, we’ll be working one-on-one so the topics will be catered to you and your current stumbling blocks.

Where the heck is it?

We’ll meet online, so you can sit back and relax wherever you are. Comfy clothes are welcome. So are large cups of coffee.

FAQ

Why do you offer month-long mentor sessions?
Working for four weeks in a row allows us to really dig into some topics, work on them together, have you implement them and then review them. Having the accountability of someone checking to see you implemented it ensures you will in fact implement it. It also allows us to troubleshoot together if it didn’t work quite right the first time.
What kinds of things can we discuss?
The sky's the limit (sorta). Every mentoring session is so different because everyone is coming from a different place and has different things holding them back. We’ll customize this so we’re working on the topic you need/want to. Things like editing, scheduling, blogging, attracting the right client, back-ups, selling products, client communication, self-portraits, creative projects.
Do I have to be a photographer to sign up?
No, I guess not. There’s lots of things I can help with as a creative entrepreneur. If you’re curious if I’d be a good fit as a mentor, shoot me an email and let’s discuss.
Are you going to critique me?
Deep breath! We may go into some critiques, but I’ll be gentle. This isn’t about ripping you apart, it’s about constructive criticism to help you grow. If you don’t want a critique of your work, let me know. But also, if you’re not ready to hear some constructive criticism, it may not be the right time for mentoring.
How do we meet?
We’ll meet one on one through video chat. I usually use zoom.
How do I get the most out of these sessions?
Be present, be curious, be brave. Do the work and leave the distractions off. If you have your phone pinging you throughout our talks, you probably won’t get the most out of our time together.
Can we reschedule?
I only offer these one day a week in order to be in my teaching zone, so rescheduling isn’t an option. That being said, life does happen and if you find yourself in a situation that leaves you no choice but to miss a session, we can try to find another time to make that up. I can’t guarantee it, but we can try.

Hi, I’m Frances

I’m a full time wedding & portrait photographer based in South Georgian Bay. I fell in love with teaching as a preteen when I started as a junior figure skating coach. If I hadn’t fallen head over heels in love with photography, teaching would have been my chosen profession. So now I do both.

Teaching lets me to give back and help other photographers grow. It allows me to be the nurturer that I am to help others reach their goals. I am a big believer in community over competition.

I have been mentoring other photographers for the past 5 years either one on one or in a group workshop setting. I was an organizer and teacher at The Camp Collective, and Revive Retreat. I am co-founder of The Heart Forward Workshop with Jennifer Van Son.
