Muskoka Lake Wedding at Church of the KETTLES | Lauren and Josh
Lauren and Josh had their intimate wedding ceremony at the century-old Church of the Kettles on Muskoka Lake. This quaint church is nestled between cedars and hemlocks, and is only accessible by boat. It also happens to be the same place Lauren's grandparents were married in 1955. They got ready just across the lake from the Kettles, at Lauren’s family cottage. The cottage is steeped in 4 generations of memories and filled with many tokens from her childhood. Lauren and Josh met on the cottage’s dock for an emotional first look. Then everyone hopped in a boat and sailed to the Church of the Kettles where they said their vows in front of a dozen or so loved ones. Their wedding ceremony was beautiful, emotional and heartfelt.
After their ceremony, two of their wedding guests slipped out and surprised the newlyweds with a shower of flower petals as they exited the church. Then they popped bubbly and shared a toast on the dock before boating back across Muskoka Lake to the cottage. Cocktails were held on the deck of their boathouse followed by an intimate dinner at dusk, thoughtfully prepared by The Bohemian Caterer. The party started with dancing and ended with almost everyone jumping into the lake. It was a wedding to remember and I’m so grateful that I got to witness it. Below are some of my favourite moments from their day.
