Hot Wheels & Heartfelt Vows: A Summertime Wedding at Craigleith Ski Club, Collingwood, Ontario

You might picture falling snow and hot cocoa when you think ski hills, but Kristy and Jon chose a hot, hot June day to get married at the beautiful Craigleith Ski Club just outside Collingwood, Ontario. Overlooking the clear blue waters of Georgian Bay, Craigleith was the perfect choice for a beautiful outdoor celebration of the love these two outdoorsy athletes share.

Kristy and her bridesmaids woke up in a sun soaked bed & breakfast, champagne and fruit trays waiting on the marble counter tops. Kristy’s gorgeous Lea-ann Belter dress hung in the morning light while she and the girls let Erin Guenter work her absolute make-up magic.

The boys started at Jon’s family’s chalet, for an easy-going morning of catching up and laughter. Jon’s polished hunter green 1970’s Corvette sat waiting in the garage—it was originally his dad’s! The ladies joined the party at the chalet and Kristy and Jon snuck away for an adorable first look in the garden’s shade.

We stopped at Delphi Point beach to capture some quick photos against the pale blues and greys where the great lake meets the slate shore. Then on to Craigleith Ski Club where Jenn Duff of celebratinglife officiants conducted the most heartfelt ceremony, with lush green grass on the slopes swaying in the background.

The ski club’s cozy, rustic atmosphere was made the more beautiful through Art in Bloem’s stunning flower arrangements adorning every lodgelike table. With flawless evening sunlight falling on the hills behind, I just had to steal Kristy and Jon away outside for what turned out to be one of my all time favourite golden hour moments. The night finished with shotskis at the bar and everyone on the dancefloor enjoying one of the most beautiful and memorable weddings anyone could dream of.
